Feeling Good Always Beats Looking Good
Adopt habits that lead to a healthy lifestyle and forget about how you look in the short term.
I've been asked a lot for advice on how I maintain my fitness. Aside from the obvious (eat right and get exercise), one main concept has helped me my entire life.
It's the idea that fitness is a lifestyle. I never saw being in shape and eating right as "fitness".
It's always been a way of life for me. This realization has helped me to not obsess over calories in, workout routines, meal plans, etc.
Instead, what I’ve always done is to have fun with physical activity, and eat well.
Eating well doesn’t always mean veggies and fruit.
While I recommend this for 90% of your diet, fruits and veggies aren't the only foods on the planet.
Sometimes it's meant veggies and a small piece of meat (hopefully naturally prepared, free of hormones, and slaughtered humanely).
Sometimes it's meant fasting for a few days. Other times, it's meant having smoothies and a handful of nuts a few times a week and skipping traditional meals.
See the point? It's all more about a general mindset around living a healthy lifestyle, not "fitness".
