“Immigrants” and “Refugees” Are People Too!

I believe people in well-to-do countries possess an unintentional subconscious bias towards inhabitants of other countries.

Why this bias exists is something I’m still trying to comprehend, but I do know that many of our ideas about 'others' are founded upon false narratives given to us by our popular media.

I’ve written about the slander and rude treatment refugees bare — the unfortunate and shameful consequence of financial wars carried out on behalf of corporate and government interests.

What Would You Do?

The atrocities climb with each new bloody conflict and humans the world over witness the erosion of their dignity and sovereignty. How humiliating it must be for a father to lose the ability to provide for his family or a mother to feed hers.

Due to such trying predicaments, droves of humans attempt exodus from their land of origin yearly due to war; their mental equilibriums repeatedly shattered by the sounds of rockets, gunfire, and explosions.

Sometimes, I think the sweet taste of privilege impedes our ability to clearly see the perilous experience ‘other’ human beings face on our planet.
