Milton J. Davis, Black Speculative Fiction and Sci-fi Fantasy Legend!
This past Saturday, I had the pleasure of going to see the Afro-futurist novelist Milton J. Davis. The man is a living legend and weaver of speculative fiction on par with (if not surpassing) the late Isaac Asimov. To be honest, writers like him don’t journey to the human realm often.
After I read his novel, Meji, a tale of twin boys born to the same tribe and destined to clash violently at the book’s outset, I became a fan. If you’ve yet to read any of his work, I’d suggest starting with this one.
It is a true epic and one that you really must experience to understand the soul of Mr. Davis. Hollywood would do itself a favor by adapting this one for the theaters.
Perhaps the most distinguishing characteristic of a writer is their productivity. Western societies have become more literate with time and many individuals refer to themselves as writers. Some are good, some aren’t. Mr. Davis stands out as a titan among writers and authors for his fecund pen. Nineteen novels (and counting) have established him as a fuerza imparable. He has a gift; some might say the gift.
