Mr. Fix It, What Women Want Most in Men

Give me a drill, a set of nails, and some shelving. I’ll give you a wall full of holes and a broken shelf. Just kidding. I’m decent with a drill and I’ve successfully put up a few shelves in my lifetime. I didn’t grow up around tools, though, and any knowledge I’ve gained in the handyman space has been acquired accidentally or through trial and a lot more error.
Train Up a Child…
Boys who grow up with fathers skilled at handy work have all the luck. Unfortunately, I wasn’t one of those lucky lads. I didn’t grow up fixing things around the house with my dad. In fact, my dad wasn’t there to show me how to fix anything.
When our new dishwasher needed installation, my mom called a guy. When our basement flooded, my step dad at the time (they’re divorced now) called a guy. When the microwave and our refrigerator broke down, yup, you guessed it. Someone was called out to our home to repair them.
