It’s tough, this change-your-reality thing. You fantasize and dream about living a life of freedom, of inspiration. You wonder why you’ve been dealt your particular hand, why you must toil and struggle in such pathetic futility.

But realize that you can have what you want if you learn to play your cards correctly.

What exactly does it mean to play your cards “correctly”? Well, it means utilizing some proven strategy to get where you want to go.

Success leaves clues.

If someone has been successful doing what you want to do, you’ll want to imitate their moves, tweaking and tailoring as you go along to ensure that you account for your own uniqueness.

I think the most sensible acknowledgement you need to make to yourself is that no one is coming to save you. Tough love? Yeah. It is. But it’s what you need.

Even at your lowest point, refuse to coddle yourself. Experience the hurt. Welcome the pain, the immense suffering. Such is life.

The mission, should you choose to accept, is to bear unspeakable horrors, traverse destruction and chaos in isolation, submerge yourself into the fire, and emerge victorious.

The only way to do this is to refine your grind, and stick to your guns.

You’ll make it.

And when you do, you’ll rejoice among the gods. Because no one will have given you anything.

You’ll have earned everything by your own blood, sweat, and tears.

There is no other way.
