Stretch for Your Life
The first thing I do in the morning is stretch.
Recently, Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, visited the U.N. headquarters in New York. His visit, part of a four day tour of the U.S., happened to coincide with National Yoga Day (June 21). In honor of the holiday, he led a historic yoga session on the headquarters’ North lawn.
Yoga’s history is vast and ancient. The stories people tell about its impact on their lives are awe inspiring, considering that a practice spanning back at least eight thousand years has taken such an inextricable hold of modern society. Stretch Your Body and Deep Breathe Every Morning
Most people don’t realize the value in simply stretching your body everyday. The first thing I do in the morning is stretch.
It’s a combination of yoga (unifying the body and mind), deep breathing and just allowing my body to sit stretched out in a variety of postures and positions. I let myself hold a stretch for about 6 seconds or so when I’m first starting. I cycle through…
