This is How I Was Inspired Again To Write
Inspiration comes in the most unexpected forms and at the most unpredictable moments. Today, a post came across my medium feed by a young writer named Joa. She spoke simply about her insecurities and sometimes, lack of motivation around writing. To remedy this, she began to write consistently for 4 days straight, producing an article each day.
Although she didn’t make much, she saw where her articles had earned her a few cents. The catch is that with each article she published, she acquired more reads and as the reads increased, the amount of money she made grew. Her gratitude for writing is apparent from her article, Getting Paid For Writing About Your Life. A change happened in me after I saw her attitude toward the craft.
I’m one of those multi-talented people with seemingly everything going for them. Everything, that is, except for life direction. Naturally, I’ve always been a helper. I always wanted to make life better for other people. Yet, somehow, even as a hip hop artist, fitness motivator, author, musician, and now, for the millionth time, a college student (some part of me still thinks I’ll go to law school…yeahhhh), I haven’t found that “thing” I can sink myself into and enjoy long term — that life long pursuit which brings me happiness, provides drive, and also allows me to help others figure out how to make their own life better…
