You’re angry. Yet, you second guess your initial impulse to speak out because you think it’s unbecoming of a nice human being.
You debate with yourself about whether to take the $20 bill you find on the ground, even after you confirm for certain that there is no one around.
And then there’s that annoying red light at three am in the morning that routinely makes you wait more than 5 minutes. There’s no traffic, but do you take it? No. Of course not. You wait a full 10 minutes for the light to change. And you probably never write the city to inquire about why the light is so long in an attempt to have it addressed.
Do you remember what happened when, towards the end of the relationship with your ex, whom you absolutely despised, you slept with a person you liked knowing you would never sleep with your ex again? Did you cry inconsolably out of guilt? Or worse…die?
